Establish the Apache Griffin Project

 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors deems it to be in the best interests
 of the Foundation and consistent with the Foundation's purpose to
 establish a Project Management Committee charged with the creation and
 maintenance of open-source software, for distribution at no charge to
 the public, related to a data quality solution for big data, including
 both streaming and batch mode. It offers an unified process to measure
 data quality from different perspectives.

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a Project Management Committee
 (PMC), to be known as the "Apache Griffin Project", be and hereby is
 established pursuant to Bylaws of the Foundation; and be it further

 RESOLVED, that the Apache Griffin Project be and hereby is responsible
 for the creation and maintenance of software related to a data quality
 solution for big data, including both streaming and batch mode. It
 offers an unified process to measure data quality from different
 perspectives; and be it further

 RESOLVED, that the office of "Vice President, Apache Griffin" be and
 hereby is created, the person holding such office to serve at the
 direction of the Board of Directors as the chair of the Apache Griffin
 Project, and to have primary responsibility for management of the
 projects within the scope of responsibility of the Apache Griffin
 Project; and be it further

 RESOLVED, that the persons listed immediately below be and hereby are
 appointed to serve as the initial members of the Apache Griffin
 Project:

 to the office of Vice President, Apache Griffin, to serve in

 RESOLVED, that the initial Apache Griffin PMC be and hereby is tasked
 with the creation of a set of bylaws intended to encourage open
 development and increased participation in the Apache Griffin Project;

 the migration and rationalization of the Apache Incubator Griffin
 podling; and be it further

 RESOLVED, that all responsibilities pertaining to the Apache Incubator
 Griffin podling encumbered upon the Apache Incubator PMC are hereafter
 discharged.

 approved by Unanimous Vote of the directors present.

 1. Preparation for graduation.
 2. Enhance user guide documents.

 - 1 new PPMC member(Lionel Liu) have been elected.

 - 6 new contributors contributed to our community.
 - 10+ users have contacted us for use cases.

How has the project developed since the last report?

 - Active development is moving on well, 101 commits in last three months.
 - Voting for releasing version 0.3.0-incubating.
 - Refactor measure module to make its architecture simpler and extensible.
 - Refine Griffin DSL to remove complex expression.
 - Looking forward to graduation release.

 - Support measure job scheduler for batch mode.
 - Use PostgreSQL instead of MySQL by default.
 - Upgrade default spark version from 1.6.x to 2.2.1 in measure module.
 - Upgrade default hive version from 1.2.1 to 2.2.0 in measure module.
 - Refactor measure module for clearer structure.
 - Work toward for next version release.

 2. Onboard use cases, we need to contact with our customers weekly for feedback.
 3. Make profiling and accuracy matured based on feedback.

 2. Release more dq dimensions like timeliness and completeness based on feedbacks from community.

 - Apache Griffin 0.1.6-incubating released.

How has the community developed since the last report? 1.We were invited to
Database Technology conference China 2017( http://dtcc.it168.com/yicheng.html
) to introduce Apache Griffin in May, lots of open source audience would like
to try Apache Griffin as their data quality solution. 2.We were invited to
Opensource Innovation Meetup(
https://www.oschina.net/news/84136/2017-5-yue-yuanchuanghui ) to introduce
Apache Griffin in May, some of them will contribute to our development.
3.Discussed with Angular expert damoqiongqiu (https://github.com/damoqiongqiu)
for UI enhance.

How has the project developed since the last report?
 - Active development started in the community. 38 commits since last report.
 - Core services are done, users can go through our data quality process
   easily.
 - Setup online demo on AWS.[will attach here soon]

   Two new contributors on-boarded, several developers had contacted us for
   plan, milestones, status and use cases.

How has the project developed since the last report?
 - Active development started in the community. 24 commits in last month.
 - The project setup is going quite well. Initial committers are onboarding,
   JIRA, Website, mailing list were successfully done.
 - Work toward next gen version (general enough) is progressing
   substantially.

   No report and seems slow to get started / no web site or code imported
   yet / low email traffic.

 Uma Maheswara Rao G:

   Seems slow in getting in to Apache Way process and mentors guiding on
   that.  There were confusions on report timings and mentors dropped
   heads-up mail on that.  Hope to see next report on time.
