Hadoop Development Tools has been incubating since 2012-11-09.

Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:

  1. Build Community
  2. Get more activity

Any issues that the Incubator PMC (IPMC) or ASF Board wish/need to be
aware of?

 - The projects lacks activity in all respects, there's currently a
   discussion thread to consider a retirement option

How has the community developed since the last report?

 - Not much activity has happened over the last quarter

How has the project developed since the last report?

 - The project has not made any progress over the last couple of months

 - Migrated all the existing functionality from master which enabled us for
  next release.

Hadoop Development Tools has been incubating since 2012-11-09.

Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:

  1. We have to define and implement an effective approach to manage the
     "client connections" to multiple clusters.
  2. Migrate the existing functionality from master to make next releases.
  3. Build Community

Any issues that the Incubator PMC (IPMC) or ASF Board wish/need to be
aware of?

  - None

How has the community developed since the last report?

  - 36 mail exchanges have happened over the dev list.

How has the project developed since the last report?

  - License issues[https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDT-42] were
    resolved, which enabled us for a new RC.
 -  Site has been modified to Markdown but we are awaiting CMS integration
    https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-7677
  - Released 0.0.1. incubating

  HDT is off to a slow start, it appears partially due to some licensing
  issues.  Now that they have their first release out, I hope that they can
  continue to create more iterative releases and provide a great tool.

  1. we have to finish the release of version 0.0.1, the main issue being
     resolving source and binary license and notice files.
  2. we have to define and implement an effective approach to manage the
     "client connections" to multiple clusters.

 - Two additional 0.0.1 release candidates as we worked through issues

Hadoop Development Tools has been incubating since 2012-11-09.

Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:

  1. we have to finish the release of version 0.0.1 and to define the build
     environment using Jenkins
  2. we have to define and implement an effective approach to manage the
     "client connections" to multiple clusters.
  3. Build Community

aware of?

  - None

How has the community developed since the last report?

  - hdt-dev has seen around 118 mails during this period

How has the project developed since the last report?

  - We released RC0 for 0.0.1 on the dev mailing list. There were some
    feedback points for the release process/artifacts. HDT-44, was also
    reported for RC0. The issue  have been addressed and we can make a new
    RC sometime soon.
  - Around 8 JIRA were filed during thing period to complete the migration
    of hadoop-eclipse source.

How has the community developed since the last report?

 - Srimanth Gunturi contributed Hadoop Eclipse project[HDT-32]
 - Mirko Kaempf & Rahul Sharma added as committers
 - Few JIRAs have also been filed during this period
 - hdt-dev has seen 105 mails during this period

How has the project developed since the last report?

 - The code has received a big contribution from Srimanth Gunturi which would
   enable interactions with HDFS and Zookeeper.
 - Discussion on the mailing lists while bringing up HDT with hadoop-eclipse
   and work in is progress to add MR side of things on the same.
 - Wizards for Mapper/Reducers migrated to new MR API[HDT-21] Three most
   important issues to address in the move towards graduation:

How has the community developed since the last report?
- Mirko Kaempf has begun contributing to the project (HDT-21)
- Worked with, and established a process for, a contribution from a GitHub.com pull request

How has the project developed since the last report?
- Tools now allow interacting with HDFS and launching Map/Reduce jobs on Hadoop 0.23.6
- New class wizards that support the "new" mapreduce api

The report adequately represents the state of the project.  My only minor
comment is that there appears to be a single individual responsible for
most of the commits; but, it is way too early in the podling's lifecycle
to determine whether or not there is a lack of community involvement.

- Porting and releasing existing codebase to support multiple versions of
 Hadoop in a single IDE instance. During this time building understanding of
 the Apache processes around working and releasing.
- Grow the podling community in terms of users and contributors.

Any issues that the Incubator PMC (IPMC) or ASF Board wish/need to be aware of?
- None

How has the community developed since the last report?
- All committers have completed ICLAs.
- Project infrastructure (git repository, website, wiki) up and open
 for business.
- IP clearance is done since the incoming code is from existing Apache
 sources (Hadoop).

How has the project developed since the last report?
- We are now open for business and ready to get going migrating and porting
 the code.

Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:
- Finish on boarding the podling. Including infra work (waiting on a git
 repository to be created see https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-5512),
 completing the podlings.xml and then IP clearance for code and committers.
- Porting and releasing existing codebase to support multiple versions of
 Hadoop in a single IDE instance. During this time building understanding of
 the Apache processes around working and releasing.
- Grow the podling community in terms of users and contributors.

Any issues that the Incubator PMC (IPMC) or ASF Board wish/need to be aware of?
- As mentioned above, we have been waiting on
 https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-5512 for over three weeks, not
 having our git repository is a big barrier to progress.

How has the community developed since the last report?
- The only change in the community was the withdrawal of Chris Douglas as
 mentor, replaced by Suresh Marru.
- Committers are currently in the process of filing ICLAs

How has the project developed since the last report?
- The project hasn't moved a lot due to not yet completing the podling on
 boarding.
