JuiCE is being voted on for dormant status.
No report submitted, and it may be time to archive this project.
We are waiting for things to move in the new Santuario TLP. Not much progress otherwise.
A few more people are interested from WSS4J and XML-Security projects. We are trying to formalize a plan to revive this project. Werner (from wss4j) has patches in his sandbox, we are working to get him commit privileges. We have received a certificate from SUN for signing the juice jar so that it can be dropped in just like any other JSSE provider's jar.
No signs of life. There is some interest in WSS4J to use parts for the code with a modified version of Bouncy Castle to speed things up. Let's see the people involved start contributing.
Juice: Still no signs of life. We need to decide how/when to shut this down.
- Juice is not active at all. We need to consider shutting down this
project
- Folks lost interest as our iCLA/CCLA process problems caused too much
delays.
#1: One of the main developers did not get his apache id because i
lost track of his iCLA and did not request root for id as soon
as his iCLA got registered.
#2: We did get their CCLA a while back which had an extra addendum
(U of Memphis) but we took too much time for legal review. Got
resolved 2004-12-30 according to the svn:foundation/legal/STATUS
file.
Status report for JuiCE for the Incubator JuiCE has stalled waiting on a set of changes to the CLA proposed by Uni of Memphis being approved by the ASF. Without this approval, Walter Hoehn cannot get commit access to the repository. As he is one of the key developers we need this sorted out before we can really ramp up. * is the STATUS file up to date? (also post link) Yes - http://incubator.apache.org/projects/juice.html * any legal, cross-project or personal issues that still need to be addressed? No. * what has been done for incubation since the last report? One account (for Noah Levitt) has been created, and the source code has been imported into SVN. * plans and expectations for the next period?
