This was extracted (@ 2024-11-19 16:10) from a list of minutes
which have been approved by the Board.
Please Note
The Board typically approves the minutes of the previous meeting at the
beginning of every Board meeting; therefore, the list below does not
normally contain details from the minutes of the most recent Board meeting.
WARNING: these pages may omit some original contents of the minutes.
Meeting times vary, the exact schedule is available to ASF Members and Officers, search for "calendar" in the Foundation's private index page (svn:foundation/private-index.html).
There has been no progress since the last report. This project should really be officially marked as dormant.
Lucene4c is stalled for the time being. I (Garrett Rooney) simply don't have the time to work on it, and nobody else has jumped up and started contributing. If there's some official way to move it to a "dormant" state until such time as someone feels motivated to work on it again I'd be in favor of that. (added by Otis Gospodnetic on behalf of Garret Rooney)
Not much has happened in the last few months. Most participants have been off working on other things. Considering the lack of interest in the project recently, we may want to think about closing it down until such time as developers have the time and energy to turn it into a more useful product, which seems to be a necessary first step in order to turn it into a sustainable community.
The implementation strategy has been changed from a pure C port to wrapping a C library around a GCJ compiled version of the Java code, and we've added a new committer (Paul Querna). Unfortunately progress has slowed recently due to "Real Life (tm)", but hopefully it will pick up again soon.
