The experience with Google Summer of Code is evolving: the Eclipse plugin (SYNCOPE-809) is doing fine, is expected to be completed according to the original schedule and is going to be part of the 2.0.0 release; the Netbeans plugin (SYNCOPE-808), instead, failed the mid-term review but was submitted anyway as incomplete pull request on GitHub. We are still in the process of finalizing 2.0: M2 was released in this

About the ongoing work, besides other fixes and improvements, we have
recently received the contribution of admin console UI translation in
Russian thanks to Dmitry Berezkin, which we also decided to report as
contributor in the team list website page. We are keeping an eye on
Dmitry to check if his support (about Russian translation, but also
other aspects) will stay and possibly increment, in order to consider him
for committership.
We have been involved for the first time ever in the Google Summer of
Code, with two projects accepted: we need to take this as an opportunity
to enlarge our developers community.

While keeping bugfix activity on branch 1_2_X, it is fair to say that most
of current work is done on master targeting 2.0.0.

Community user@ ML activity is raising, with new users evaluating the project and asking questions: currently 47 subscribers, including 4 archive / non human addresses. dev@ ML activity is quite consistent: currently 42 subscribers, including 4 archive / non human addresses. The month of January 2013 made some significant activity peak: 45 issues resolved, 271 commits, 1359 emails exchanged in our mailing lists. The new CXF RESTful interface has been triggering relevant architectural discussions and brought some roadmap adjustment. We have two new committers, Christian Schneider and Andrei Shakirin. Releases 1.0.5, a maintenance release from the 1_0_X branch, was cut last Jan 23rd. The next major release 1.1.0 is approaching, only few issues (including final checks and documentation) are left open.

Some new contributors are helping with code re-organization and migration of REST interfaces from Spring MVC to Apache CXF. No changes in committers / PMC members were made. Releases We released the first version after graduation (1.0.4) last Dec 10th. While some bugfixing is still going into the 1_0_X branch, most of development effort is devoted to next major release 1.1.0 that will introduce some relevant new features. The migration of REST interfaces from Spring MVC to Apache CXF has been discussed and targeted to release 1.2.0, while some preparatory work is already being part of 1.1.0.

A talk has been provided during ApacheCon EU, "Open Source Identity Management", introducing Apache Syncope. No changes in committers / PMC members were made. Releases We are working towards first maintenance release after graduation (1.0.4) but also for next major release (1.1.0): activity on JIRA and commits list is high.

the public, related to managing digital identities in

Committee (PMC), to be known as the "Apache Syncope Project",
be and hereby is established pursuant to Bylaws of the
Foundation; and be it further

responsible for the creation and maintenance of software
related to managing digital identities in enterprise environments;

RESOLVED, that the office of "Vice President, Apache Syncope" be
and hereby is created, the person holding such office to
serve at the direction of the Board of Directors as the chair
of the Apache Syncope Project, and to have primary responsibility
for management of the projects within the scope of
responsibility of the Apache Syncope Project; and be it further

Apache Syncope is an Open Source system for managing digital identities in enterprise environments, implemented in JEE technology. Syncope entered incubation on 2012-02-10. Podling's graduation resolution proposal was voted and accepted by the Incubator PMC. Suitable name search (PODLINGNAMESEARCH-17) was also conducted.
