## Issues:
- Last time, the board asked us to clarify a couple of things:
- We mentioned there were off-list discussions about future work. These
were informal discussions between some committers, but nothing came out
that was worth sharing. In hindsight we could have omitted this from the
report. We are obviously aware that any decisions need to be made on the
list.
- It was mentioned that activity was low, asking us if there are still 3
PMC around. We acknowledge that activity was (and still is) low, but
there are still at least 3 PMC members around to answer questions and fix
bugs.

Community There have been active conversations about how to best document building and running ACE as we're finalizing the transition to Maven. Several committers of ACE will be present and talking at ApacheCon NA 2010. Software Toni has done initial testing with Maven 3, making some changes to the build system to support it. Premek Brada, a researcher and software engineering lecturer at University of West Bohemia, Czech Republic, has been researching component compatibility methods and their applications to industrial technologies, in particular OSGi. He is considering donating software to analyze changes in code and what their impact should be on versioning changes. Licensing and other issues None at the moment. Community * Karl Pauls and Marcel Offermans did a tutorial on, amongst other things, ACE at the EclipseCon/OSGi DevCon in March. * Marcel Offermans presented ACE at the OSGi UK Users Forum end of January. Software * Completed the migration of both the target and server nodes from Ant to Maven, we now have a fully functional Maven build. * Switched to the newly agreed terminology in the user interface (in the code, this still needs to be done). * Started a discussion about migrating to a common scheduler API, possibly sharing it with Sling and ServiceMix. * Toni Menzel did some work on setting up a CI build on Hudson, setting it up and successfully deploying to a Nexus instance using his own setup, still a work in progress on getting it up and running on Apache infrastructure. * Implemented the option to statically or dynamically link bundles to features in the UI. Community * Toni Menzel accepted our invitation to become a committer, after considerable contributions since the start of ACE which include support for launching using Pax Runner, various patches and the migration to Maven. * Brian Topping accepted our invitation to become a committer, after learning about ACE at ApacheCon US 2009. Brian is helping out with the migration to Maven. * Jean-Baptiste Onofre accepted our invitation to become a committer, after approaching us to work together on integrating ACE with AutoDeploy/Kalumet. He has since also helped out with the migration to Maven. * Marcel Offermans presented ACE at the ApacheCon US 2009 as part of the OSGi track Software * Migrating from an Ant based build to Maven. Current trunk holds both builds. * Currently its about aligning the Maven output with their Ant originals. After that, the ant project will be moved out/removed. (Overview: ACE-62) * CI build is going to be moved to the Hudson grid. (see ACE-71). Community: * Angelo van der Sijpt accepted our invitation to become a committer, after contributing various patches related to a new Web UI. * Toni Menzel contributed patches to migrate to a customized, Pax Runner based launcher and integrate the Web UI in Apache Felix Web Console. Software: * The GWT based Web UI is now fully functional. A lot of work has gone into this. * An Apache Felix Web Console plugin was created so the ACE UI can also be displayed inside that console. * Target artifacts are now built by Pax Runner, allowing us to easily use any OSGi framework implementation to run the software on. * The configurator we use can now update configuration data on the fly. * Fixed a lot of integration tests run in our continuous build. Community * The Software Grant is on record now, so the initial codebase was imported and work has started (packages renamed, license headers in place). * Documentation has been migrated, entered into the official wiki, now all setup tasks are resolved. * Accepted patches and implemented feedback from both Toni Menzel and Angelo van der Sijpt. * Niclas Hedhman has stepped down as a mentor, and has notified the incubator PMC. Bertrand Delacretaz replied, suggesting we move on with the two remaining mentors, Bertrand and Carsten Ziegeler.
