The Vote to graduate bRPC to TLP has been closed as pass in the IPMC
community.
we got 25 +1, and no -1.

No.

### How has the community developed since the last report?
We added a new committer --- Chen Guangming.

### How has the project developed since the last report?
We release a new apache release 1.3 by Hu Xiguo.
And RDMA support feature has been integrated into trunk, will be included
in 1.4 release.

   We add two committers, they are Wang Xiaofeng,Hu Xiguo。
   And we add 3 PPMC members ,they are Cai Daojin,Helei,Lilei.

   we particpated in ApacheCon Asia 2022, PPMC Wang Weibing was the co-chair of the RPC track.
   there were about 3 sessions in that track.

   brpc 1.2.0 has been released by a new release manager ---liu shuai,
   which add apple m1 support.

we invited our mentor Pan Juan to join our offline dinner meeting on Oct 4th,
she gave me many suggestion about graduation,
including discussing more in the mail list.
we quite appreciate these ideas, and follows her suggestion accordingly.

 Since then, we will branch 1.0 out for stable release, and accept bigger
 feature into trunk.

 engineer who take care of new issues and finish report

 we have fixed some bugs that prevent us to make an apache release, most
 are license related.

### How has the community developed since the last report?
 After voting from our PMC member, we are happy to welcome a new
 committer, he is Lorin-lilei. He is from bytedance, working in graph
 database and graph computing. Their projects are using brpc as their RPC
 framework, he contributed a lot bug fixes in the brpc community. So PMC
 recognize his contributions.

### How has the project developed since the last report?
 We have fixed some license issues that long existed in the code
 base. Next we will check all code for license compatible.We will try
 to release version 1.0 next month.

 It developed slowly.
 More companies are beginning to adopt brpc in their products, including
 cloudset and DiDi.
 We are discussing to add one new committer.

 We have integrated some bugs fixes, including fix build in MacOS.
 And add some features, such as improvement of protobuf-json
 conversation, support logging to json format.

 We had one online meeting on Aug to talk about the task lists of
 near future.
 It includes several tasks.
 1. Let new PPMC member to involve into release related things
 2. Add “good first issue” to several GitHub issues for beginner
 3. Plan to have monthly online meeting

 And we found that there are several engineers from tencent were
 using brpc too.
 We have invited them to join the dev@ mail list.

 Build 0.9.8-rc01 is released,  this time our new PPMC member helei
 made the build.
 we are planning for our next release as 1.0.0 before the end of
 this year.

 we organized a meeting to listen to Apache ShardingSphere's chair

 he shared his experience on how to develop his project's community and

 we discussed about the release schedule of brpc, maybe a quarter per
 release will be ok for now.
 And new PPMC member helei will participate into the work of release.

 We added three new committers, they are helei, cai Daojin, mu gaidong.
 they are all from iqiyi company , using brpc for their business,
 and contributing a lot to brpc projects, including bugfix/feature/code
 review/evangelism.

 1. vote for release 0.97 rc2 failed due to some license issue
 2. vote for release 0.97 rc3 is still ongoing, with WIP disclaimer,
 hopefully will be done next week

 brpc team had organized a forum on Aug 3rd in Shanghai China,  over 100
 engineers attended it,
 Contributors from Baidu/bilibili/iQiyi shared their experience on using
 brpc in their projects.
 we hope to attract more engineers to use and contribute to brpc project.

 A new team from baidu shanghai office have began to working on brpc,
 including liuzhiwei, shizhan, tangjie, xingyongxu and yuhao.

 we proposed the first apache release,
 the vote of rc1 was failed due to one 3rd party's license missed from
 LICENSE.
 the vote of rc2 was still on, waiting for JB's comments.

BRPC has been incubating since 2018-11-13.

Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:

 1. Repo has been just moved to apache org,thanks for apache infra‘s help
 2. Begin to prepare an apache release
 3. Community buidling is going on

 Community is a little shy, some more activities could be occurred in the

 Dave Fisher: now the the git repository has finally been transferred and
 the correct membership is on the PPMC the podling can finally get some
 community traction.
 I plan to keep a close eye and will ask to officially mentor if needed.

   Dave Fisher: I wrote up this report and made the mailing list request.
   Justin Mclean: LDAP and DNS also feel between the cracks. Mentors were
   pinged but no response. I think it would be good for this project to
   have an extra mentor.
